Edouard Malingue Project Space,
London, November - December 2019
Exhibition design with EBBA Architects.
Group exhibition curated with Dr. Helen Pheby (Head of Curatorial Programme, Yorkshire Sculpture Park) featuring Samson Young (b. 1979, Hong Kong) and Su-Mei Tse (b. 1973, Luxembourg) and emerging artist Tianyou Huang (b. 1992, China). The exhibition was the second of three projects in the gallery’s temporary London project space located in St Saviour’s, a Grade 1 listed building dating 1866 in Islington. Through video, photography and a site-specific installation, ‘Quest for Quiet’ explores how ‘quiet’ is not silent, and invites us to contemplate the murmurs and subtleties of the quotidian.
Exhibition was accompanied by a public programme running throughout the exhibition including an in conversation with Chris Fite-Wassilak (Writer), Emily Steer (Editor, Elephant Magazine) and Pamela Kember (Independent Curator); a yoga and sound bath journey with Souljourn Yoga, Sound Universe London; live concert ‘The Sound We Inhabit’ with musician, composer, artist Benjamin McDonnell and the Gokumi Ensemble.
